Do you complete each piece by hand?
Each piece in my shop is designed and hand lettered by me, but not each piece is done individually. After creating an original, I scan and digitize the piece, and then have it printed by a local professional print shop to create pieces as close to the original as possible.
How did you learn hand-lettering? How can I learn it?
I've loved lettering as long as I can remember. Through countless hours of practice, and a great deal of trial-and-error, I've refined my own lettering to a style that I find both natural and beautiful. I'm fascinated by the unique character that each individual artist is able to create with their personal style, and I encourage you to explore your own! To help foster this individual creativity, I'm pleased to offer Winsome Workshops in select cities starting in 2016. If you're interested in hosting or attending one of these workshops, please check out the WORKSHOP INFO page for more details!
What brushes/pens/tools do you recommend?
I work predominately with watercolor and calligraphy ink, with the occasional gouache thrown in for good measure. I found I didn't have a knack for brush pens, so I stick with watercolor brushes in sizes 0 and 1. For calligraphy ink, I use Higgins brand; for gouache I use Da Vinci or Windsor & Newton. When it comes to brands, however, I think a medium-grade tool in the hand of a competent creative will yield a far better outcome than the most expensive product in the hands of someone who doesn't know how to use it. I encourage you to practice and hone your style on the less expensive tools, and as your skill improves you might find those are sufficient after all. To this day, I believe the cheapest watercolor pallet from Michaels does the job just as well as the most expensive tubes you can buy online.
Do you offer custom prints with a quote or illustration of my choosing?
I love working with clients one-on-one and getting to hear their stories as we craft custom pieces together. Many of the works in my shop have grown out of these collaborations, and it's my hope to always be able to offer them in one way or another. In an attempt to streamline the custom print process, I've created select custom print templates for you to choose from. I'm happy to offer a limited number of custom prints in these select styles per month, but the availability fills up quickly! Custom orders take a leadtime of 4-6 weeks, and rush jobs are not available. If you're interested in creating something together, please checkout the custom print listing HERE for the full details.
What about logos or brand design?
I'd love to work with you on the lettering for your business or brand. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and lets discuss.
How about custom weddings invitation suites?
I'm a huge fan. Wedding suites are some of my favorite projects, and I'd love to hear what you've envisioned for yours! Please email me at email@example.com and we'll go from there!
How do you ship your products?
All orders are shipped using USPS. Orders weighing under 1 lb. will be mailed First Class and should take 2-5 days to arrive. Orders weighing over 1 lb. will be sent through Priority Mail and should arrive in 1-3 business days. All cards and 8 by 10 prints ship in flat mailers; 11 by 14 and 18 by 24 sizes ship in rigid cardboard tubes.

Do you have a storefront I can visit?
Not currently, and since I work out of my home, I'm not currently able to offer studio visits. As we grow, this will hopefully be something I can offer in the future!
So, where can I shop for your products in person?
We have an amazing family of stockists who carry Winsome goodies all over the U.S., and you can find a list of them HERE. Please go visit them and pay them your support!
There's a shop in my town that should carry your products. How do we make that happen?
Well, aren't you the sweetest! Please feel free to pass on my info to the store buyer/owner and request that they carry Winsome Easel!
